Dialled In

Curated in collaboration with Balraj Samrai, Gracie T and Nirav Chande, we're bringing you a multi-genre all-dayer platforming the breadth of South Asian artistry, in true Dialled In fashion.

Expect everything from live folk music to R&B to punjabi garage to hip-hop and more, as 30+ live musicians and DJ's perform across 3 rooms in the iconic NIAMOS (The Nia Centre) from 12pm - 10pm.  Very special guest, DJ Radical Sista, will also be in attendance, along with a slew of local Manchester legends!

Join us on the 20th July as we platform the breadth of South Asian artistry for our first day festival of the summer…

This event will go back to the roots of our first festival in 2021, and since we've been doing things in Manchester with the community already, we thought it'd be the best place to do our very first big event outside of London. Expect more of this in the future

DYLAN MORAN

As part of a series of very special shows with the historic Hulme Playhouse Theatre (now Niamos) we are thrilled to welcome one of the ALL TIME greats!

Widely regarded as the finest stand up of his generation, selling out shows worldwide, Dylan Moran will be bringing his dark, dry and relentlessly sharp humour to Niamos as he performs an extended headline set.

Described as “The Oscar Wilde of comedy” and “The greatest comedian, living or dead” you can expect something special from the Bafta and Perrier Award winning Moran, famed both for his incredible standup performances and his roles in Black Books, Shaun of the Dead, Notting Hill and much more!

“His comedy takes on an existential dimension, as Moran comes to represent the struggles we all wage for meaning and connection” The Guardian

“High-octane riffs from the Irish master of grumpiness…spellbinding” Evening Standard

“Funny and fascinating, and utterly deserving of his place in the modern classics” The Times

JO ENRIGHT

Support on the night is provided by the incredible Josephine Enright. Jo Enright is an award winning stand-up comedian and actress who has appeared in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, The Job Lot, Life's Too Short and After Life.

“Jo Enright is one of the most naturally gifted comic talents I’ve ever seen. I’d put her in the same league as Julie Walters.” Peter Kay

"One of Britain’s best character actresses." Grace Dent

SCOTT BENNETT

Recently described by the Evening Standard as “Live Comedy’s best kept secret” Scott Bennett has been blazing a trail through the stand-up circuit for the best part of a decade. He’s written for many high profile acts such as Chris Ramsey and Jason Manford, and recently recorded his debut on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo. In massive demand as a comedy writer and with regular appearances on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and The Now Show, Scott is an act on the verge of breaking through into the big time.

“Great Material, great delivery, a very funny man” Rob Brydon

“A Joy to watch” Chris Ramsey

“Flashes of Peter Kay, Jason Manford and John Bishop” Beyond a Joke

The Session

Hercules Productions is one of the very few Black led production companies still thriving in the Northwest, offering a full range of professional and participatory work, in different creative disciplines such as Theatre, Music and film productions as well as running creative community projects with young people in local areas of Manchester.

We are excited to welcome Alexandra Spence and Kelly Jayne Jones to the NIAMOS centre for an evening of experimental sound art.

Alexandra Spence is a sound artist and musician living on unceded Wangal land in Sydney, Australia. Through her practice Alex attempts to reimagine the intricate relationships between the listener, the object, and the surrounding environment as a kind of communion or conversation. Her aesthetic favours field recordings, analogue technologies and object interventions. Alex has presented her art and music in Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America including the Vancouver Art Gallery; BBC Radio; Ausland, Berlin; Radiophrenia, Glasgow; Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid; Sound Forms Festival, Hong Kong; MONO, Brisbane; The Substation, Melbourne; Soft Centre, and Liveworks Festival, with Liquid Architecture, Sydney. (She holds the belief that electricity might actually be magic).

Kelly Jayne Jones is a Manchester based artist making work that combines performance, installation and sound. She is interested in creating a multi-sensory experience that creates possible conditions for communication and exchange. She was one half of the group part wild horses mane on both sides, which disbanded in 2016.
